I so remember seeing the Letterman Avengers cover on a 7-11 spinner rack as a kid... ha!

I wasn't watching Letterman at the time--that was one of those too-late, probably too-adult shows for my parents to allow, so this issue, much like the Saturday Night Live issue of Marvel Team-Up, somehow made it feel like I was getting away with something they wouldn't approve of. Which made it even better.

Great stuff! "I prefer my comic covers to involve the guy who claimed he could bend spoons with his mind" - LOL Loved that ish, was part of Tony Isabella's DD run, I seem to remember. And Jack's 4th World Don Rickles crossover! Didn't Rickles appear in some Beach Party movies? That, I gotta see...!

What's wild about Uri Geller is how he's managed to find ways to inject himself back into the news cycle even decades after his spoon-bending time had come and gone. I remember a couple years ago, he resurfaced still trying to mindbend some silverware as a way to help convince skeptics to get the covid vaccine. But he never has found a way back into comics, as far as I'm aware.

Crikey! I didn't know that about the silverware vaccine bending lol! Brilliant. But I do remember his friendship with Michael Jackson - and the time he took over Exeter City Football Club lol - I live in the UK and Exeter is about 40+ miles from us down in the rural South West - that was a surreal story when it hit the news over here. https://www.urigeller.com/exeter-city-take-finally-sealed/
