Sergio is my all time favorite cartoonist, and Groo is my all time favorite comic. I have met el Maestro once, at a Boston Convention, but was too cash poor at the time to spend what I should have at his table. I feel that I may have missed my one shot, there, given, well, everything. I echo your lament at the absence of any real attempt at a modern collection/reprinting of Groo, too. Time is not on the side of such a thing happening, I fear.

I'll always think of Garcia-Lopez as the artist for Super Powers, but his Deadman is the run I love. Deep cuts, I know, but deep cuts are where you have to go to get the goods sometimes.

His unearthed pages are amazing.

Sergio - I'll always remember Groo from Star Comics. He draws running (running and slicing) in such an Aragones fashion. It makes me smile whenever I see it. His Solo book will always be a highlight for me. The story of how he broke into the North American market is entertaining—sleeping on a business floor while he did the rounds - even getting locked in one night. That is perseverance.
