I feel bad for all the other paintings in the same room as the Mona Lisa. No one looks over at them! She should be displayed like a body lying in state -- one big line, you get a minute, then you move on. Wouldn't even need a room, just a wide corridor.
I think that's their plan to solve the crowd problem, and make it more of a timed ticket, too. The painting on the far wall in the same room as Mona Lisa was massive and gorgeous and was largely being totally ignored.
I was, but only because I walked out empty-handed from of the Taschen bookstore I also visited there. I hated to leave without walking away with a few of their books, especially since they had a nice 50% off thing going on the Marvel books and others, but there's no way even one of those would've fit in any bag... dammit.

And we already know what the Mona Lisa looks like! It's actually a disappointment, when you consider how small it is.
But... were you under the weight limit coming back from the Paris bookstore tour? ah!
